WE NEED LOVING APPROVED FOSTER HOMES
Due to COVID-19, the unknown surrounding it and, the request that we ALL nationally stay home – OLBH is suspending all adoptions, new fosters and any non-essential visitors to the rescue until which time it is deemed safe to resume normal practice. Any applications received will be held until suspension has been lifted.
TIME is often critical for being able to save a dog from a kill shelter so we encourage you to fill out the foster application now so we can save precious time before they are scheduled for euthanasia.
Please complete this online FOSTER APPLICATION. It will route directly to our director and you will receive a confirmation email.
One of the first steps to getting a dog ready for their forever home can be fostering.
While we try to give each dog all the attention we can, there are only so many hours in a day. Fostering provides not only space in the rescue to save another life or create more room in the kennels, it provides the foster dog with the ability to learn how to live in a home so we can better match the dog with their forever home!
Some foster dogs require medical care – some need socialization – some just need to know that there are wonderful humans out there that truly care about them.
We require that the foster live in the home as part of the family AND we require a fenced in yard – we do not approve invisible fencing.
OLBH provides for all of our fosters needs, you provide a safe, loving environment for them to flourish in. All of our fosters medical care must be provided by veterinarians we have partnered with: (listed veterinarians can change, we will update as soon as possible)
IF YOU HAVE SPECIAL SKILLS AND PATIENCE – LET US KNOW! Some of the dogs we get are feral – they’ve come a long way but, have a long way to go. All of these kids are in need of experienced foster homes to work with them, socialize them and help them with their journey to finding their own forever homes.
